Everything lyrics by Michael Bublé

You're a falling star, you're the get away car.
You're the line in the sand when I go too far.
You're the swimming pool, on an August day.
And you're the perfect thing to say.
And you play it coy, but it's kinda cute.
Ah, when you smile at me you know exactly what you do.
Baby don't pretend, that you don't know it's true.
Cause you can see it when I look at you.

[Chorus:]
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
You're a carousel, you're a wishing well,
And you light me up, when you ring my bell.
You're a mystery, you're from outer space,
You're every minute of my everyday.
And I can't believe, uh that I'm your man,
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can.
Whatever comes our way, ah we'll see it through,
And you know that's what our love can do.

[Chorus:]
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
So, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
So, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

[Chorus:]And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
You're every song, and I sing along.
'Cause you're my everything.
Yeah, yeah
So, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
So, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

Analysis

Michael Bublé, the multi-platinum jazz/swing singer, grew up near Vancouver, Canada. He was first introduced to swing music and old standards by his grandfather, who offered his services for free as a professional plumber to musicians who were willing to let Michael sing a couple of songs with them on stage. Bublé finally got his big break for show business after the former Prime Minster of Canada, Brian Mulroney, discovered his music . Just before Bublé was about to give up in his career, a music producer named David Foster, heard his work on a cd given to him by the Prime Minister. And since then, Michael Bublé, has taken a part in the very soul of jazz/sway music. He has sold a total of 20 million albums as of 2007 and 8 million of them in the U.S. alone.

On of his most beloved songs, "Everything" has made the hearts of his fans melt.
This song "Everything" uses many poetic devices, such as imagery&Local color. For example, in the very beginning of the song in lines 3-6, "You're the swimming pool, on an August day, And your the perfect thing to say, And you play it coy, but its kind of cute, When you smile at me you know exactly what you do." Bublé also uses multiple uses of romance, seen in lines 9-11, "And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times, its you its you, you make me sing, Your every line your every word, your everything." Also found in lines 16-19, "And I can't believe that, uh I'm your man, And I get to kiss you baby just cause I can, Whatever comes our way we'll see it through, and you know that's what our love can do,". Lastly, there is many many uses of metaphores in this song, as seen in lines 1-4, "You're a falling star, you're the get away car; You're the line in the sand when I go to far; You're the swimming pool on an August day; And you're the perfect thing to say". There is also a few usages of archetype(s) as seen in line 9, "And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times," indicated that it is happening in the present.

So all-in-all Michael Bublé's "Everything" most definitely is everything, at least everything perfect in a relationship. Not only do the lyrics make the song, but so does Bublé's voice, some would call it 'memorizing' and he is frequently compared to the all time, jazz/sway/pop artist Frank Sinatra. Just one thing to ask, can you handle everything?
